Kapila Vatsyayan releases Publication Division's book on art
New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) 'Bhartiya Kala Ke Hastakshar', a book on 14 renowned modern Indian artists who have made landmark contributions in shaping the art scenario, was released here today.
The book in Hindi, published by the Publications Division, was released by noted writer and art critic Kapila Vatsyayan. Sahitya Akademi Secretary Sudhakar Sharma presided over the function.
Written by Jyotish Joshi, famous art critic and editor of Lalit Kala Akademy's magazine 'Samkaleen Kala', the book attempts to fill the increasing void between art and art critique.
Taking the reader through an artistic journey, it throws light on technique and aesthetics of 14 modern Indian artists' work. These artists are: L M Sen, N S Bendre, K.C.S. Panikkar, K K Hebbar, M F Husain, Paritosh Sen, S H Raza, Francis Newton Souza, Ramkumar, K G Subramanyam, Tayeb Mehta, J Swaminathan, A Ramachandran and Anjoli Ela Menon.
Pictures of two art pieces of each of the artists have also been included in the book.
