Iran to supply 100 mw power for Pakistan's Gwadar Port
Islamabad, Feb 7 (UNI) Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has signed an agreement with an Iranian company to buy 100 megawatt power for its Gwadar Port, located in southwestern Balochistan province.
The agreement was signed in Lahore yesterday by Mr Anwar Khalid, member of WAPDA, and Mr Mendies Ismail Mohsini, head of the Iranian firm.
Under the agreement, Iran will supply power to the second major Pakistani port from January 2009 under, The News reported.
The Iranian company will invest 26 million dollars while WAPDA will put 60 million dollars in the project, which will cost 86 million dollars.
