Kolkata, Feb 7 (UNI) Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader Manas Bhuiya today urged Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for creating a congenial atmosphere for industrialisation in the state.

The law and order situation at Singur, Nandigram and Khejuri of Hooghly and East Midnapore districts has seriously deteriorated and the police and administration have no control to curb down the violent situations and restore normalcy in those districts, Mr Bhuiya said and alleged that ''a civil war is continuing in the state.'' He said the situation has aggravated due to promulgation of 144 CrPC by the government at Singur to stop the democratic protests by the political parties.

''We are not against industrialisation and no industrialisation can be possible amidst a civil war. There should be congenial atmosphere for setting up industry,'' he said.

Mr Bhuiya also demanded the Chief Minister's intervention to resolve the crisis in the jute industry.

"The jute industry was closed for 33 days due to a stalemate created by the trade unions and the owners of the jute mills and Labour Minister Mrinal Banerjee's last efforts could not yield any positive result,'' he observed.
