Illicit timber seized, smuggler arrested in Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police seized illicit timber and arrested a smuggler in the Kashmir valley overnight, a police spokesman said today.
He said acting on specific information, Uri Police led by Station House Officer (SHO) Shamas Din Parray intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle police recovered illicit timber.
The driver was identified as Nazir Hussain Qureshi s/o Aashim Ali Qureshi.
He said in another incident, Khansahib Police, in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, seized one horse alongwith illicit timber near Raiyar Village.
The timber smuggler was identified as Abdul Aziz fled from the spot.
Cases have been registered in this regard.
