Foreign currencies worth Rs 16 lakh missing

Anand, Feb 07: Foreign currencies worth Rs 16 lakh kept in a secure bag, was found missing here.

Nishant Jayantibhai Patel, who works at a Anand money exchange office's branch at Borsad, was taking Rs 16 lakhs worth of foreign currencies in a secure bag to his Anand office. After reaching Anand office, he found the currencies missing. He said the currencies may have been robbed and he does not know how it happened.

According to the manager at Anand office Harishbhai, the story of Nishantbhai sounded fishy since the bag, once locked, is difficult to open. He said the bag contained US $ 3021; pounds 2350; Candian $ 1000; Euros 114 and South African Rand 500. Harishbhai has filed a complaint and a case has been registered under IPC 406 against Nishant.
