Cabinet decides to hand over RGCB to Centre: CM
Thiruvananthapuram, Feb 7 (UNI) Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan today said the Cabinet had decided to hand over the state-run Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB)to the Centre.
Briefing reporters after the Cabinet meeting here, he said as the RGCB had assets of Rs 50 crore, the state would insist upon the Centre to provide due representation to it.
The Opposition United Democratic Front (UDF) had criticised the government for delaying the transfer of the RGCB to the Centre for converting it into a centre of excellence.
Mr Achuthanandan said the Cabinet also approved the Kerala Police Amendment Ordinance 2007.
This follows the recent Supreme Court order on reforms in the Police Department.
