Budget session of Rajasthan Assy from Mar 1

Jaipur, Feb 7 (UNI) The Budget Session of Rajasthan Assembly will begin from March 1, it was decided in a cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje today.

Cabinet spokesman and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Singh Rathore said the session will begin with the address of Governor Pratibha Patil. The third budget of the BJP goverment will be presented in the Assembly in the first week of March and the business Advisory committe of the Assembly will finalise the date.

Mr Rathore said the cabinet also gave its nod for an amendment to the Rajasthan Excise Act 1950 under which the authority for appeal against an order of the excise commissioner has been transferred from the Rajasthan Revenue Board to the Rajasthan Tax Board.

Answering a question, Mr Rathore said all ministers except Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria, Social Welfare Minister Madan Dilawar and Transport Minister Yunus Khan did not attend the meeting due to prior engagements.
