Bison found dead after injuring two persons

Kolhapur, Feb 7 (UNI) A bison that had attacked two persons including a woman, injuring them seriously, has been found dead near Parkhandale area here, forest officials said.

Forest officials today said that the bison had yesterday entered a sugarcane field and attacked a cane-cutter Ananda Kamble. It later attacked a woman from nearby Kumbharwadi area. Both were seriously injured in the attack and have been admitted to a local hospital here.

After villagers drove out the bison, it took shelter in a cattle-shed. On finding on movement, they informed the forest officials, who confirmed the death of the beast.

The exact cause of its death will be known only after the autopsy is conducted, sources added.
