BHEL bags order from Mahagenco

Tiruchirapalli, Feb 7 (UNI) Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited(BHEL) has bagged orders for the supply and installation of the main plant package at two power stations in Maharashtra, involving three units of 500 MW each.

A BHEL press release said here today the order for over Rs 3,900 crore had been placed on the company by the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited(MAHAGENCO) for one 500 MW unit at Khaperkheda Thermal Power Station (TPS) project and for two 500 MW units at Bhusawal TPS project.

The order for company's power sector had crossed Rs 20,000 crore mark in a single year for the first time in its history.

Slated for synchronisation during the eleventh plan, these units will add 36 million units every day to the Grid on commissioning, the release added.
