Azad, Balu review execution of multi-thousand crore road projects

Jammu, Feb 7 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad and Union Shipping, Road Transport and Highways Minister T R Balu today reviewed the execution of multi-thousand crore road projects.

Mr Azad said timely completion of all mega multi-thousand crore road projects shall change the profile of the state. ''Effective, reliable and high quality road connectivity in urban, rural and far-flung areas is essential for overall development of the state and keep rich infrastructure ready to cater to all national and international trade and commerce activities in Jammu and Kashmir,'' he added.

He said it is necessary that work be intensified on Srinagar bye-pass road so that it is completed on time.

The Union Minister also gave directions to NHAI authorities to take timely action for completion of this road project. It was also decided that 4 bridges and flyover at Hyderpora on this road project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 62 crore which would be 6-lane and shall be completed by December 2008.
