Austrian Govt to train Indian tour operators
Chennai, Feb 7 (UNI) Aiming to woo more Indian tourists, the Austrian Government would impart a comprehensive training to various Indian tourism operators across the country.
Talking to UNI here, Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) director Christine Mukharji said, ''during its workshop in Chennai today, ANTO will bring together leading representatives of the Austrian Travel Industry with clients, key players and opinion leaders to select some Indian tour operators for a training in Austria''.
''These selected operators will come to our country to get the Austrian certification'', she added.
Ms Mukharji, who was here with the Austrian tourism delegates, said about 47,000 Indian tourists had visited the country during the last year. She also expressed hope that the flow of tourists would increase by 50 per cent this year.
The delegates would also visit Mumbai and Delhi to meet the travel agents.
''Since tourism is a main source of income for Austria, the department would allot more funds to the tourism sector for setting up more online tourism marketing across the globe'', she said.
