Australian skier buried under avalanche in JK

Srinagar, Feb 7: A skier from Australia Shan was buried alive under an avalanche in Gulmarg sector in Jammu and Kashmir today, officials said.

They said a group had gone for skiing at Affarwat (4390 mtrs), in world famous ski resort of Gulmarg early this morning.

However, when they were sking down hill, a huge avalanche came down, and buried Shan.

Other skiers, however, escaped unhurt.

Relief and rescue teams were rushed to the area which had received fresh snowfall recently.
