6 landmines detected in AP

Penugonda, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 7 (UNI) Six landmines were detected today in various places in Penugonda Police Station limits in Ananthapur district.

According to police here, they detected three landlines between Makktipalli Thanda and Venkatagiri and the rest between Duddabanda and Chandragiri limits following receipt of information.

All the landmines were defused and the checking intensified at the nearby areas to find out if any more landmines were planted by suspected insurgents, police said.
