Pondy: 3000 litres of rectified spirit seized

Puducherry, Feb 7: Puducherry Excise police seized 3000 litres of rectified spirit worth Rs 4.5 lakh during a raid at a godown last night.

Acting on a tip-off, a team headed by Deputy Collector (Excise) Anbazhagan raided the godown at Thuthipet, near here and seized the spirit and impounded a car.

The spirit and the car belonged to one Samidurai of Lawspet here, a release from the excise department said here today.
