Sanjay Dutt's at TADA court as his bail period ends
Mumbai, Feb 6: Sanjay Dutt, accused in the 1993 blasts case is at the special TADA court in Mumbai, which will review his bail. His bail term ends today.
At the court, a few family members of 69 other people found guilty in connection with the 1993 Bombay blasts, were detained by the police after they staged a protest and raised slogans. These people were protesting against what they see as preferential treatment for the actor.
They are demanding that their relatives' cases should be treated on par with Sanjay Dutt's.
Dutt has been out on bail after being convicted under the Arms Act for possessing an AK-56 rifle and a pistol after the 1993 blasts. His bail has been extended thrice so far.
In his last bail application, Sanjay Dutt had submitted testimonials from prominent people in Mumbai vouching for his character and good behaviour.
Meanwhile, his legal team is also working on getting probation for Dutt instead of a jail term.
