Delhi Master Plan will allow mixed land use: Reddy

New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) The Delhi Master Plan 2021, incorporating mixed land use norms, will be notified in a couple of days, Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy today said.

Mr Reddy who was addressing the Editors' Conference, said he had signed the documents today and it would be notified in a day or two.

The Urban Development Minister said they had also included in the Master Plan some changes in the Rent Control Law to keep "parity between owners and tenants".

Mr Reddy, who dwelled on the prestigious Rs 100,000 crore Jawahar Lal Nehru Urban Renewal Mission, said that they were making efforts to bring down stamp duties.

Minister of State for Urban Development Ajay Maken who was also present at the conference said Delhi's new master plan would not allow plotted development in green areas, adding that only group housing societies will be encouraged to build homes in such zones.

While talking about private sector involvement in the house building activity, he said it would be mandatory for such parties to build certain percentage of homes for the poor.
