Communal tension averted, 4 held

Lucknow, Feb 6 (UNI) A major communal flare-up was averted in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh today after members of a community hurled bombs on the other.

The dispute related to the construction of a temple in Dhanaura village under Billi police station area snowballed into a full-fledged clash.

Later, the rival group hurled a country-made bomb at members of the other community. There, however, was no casualty reported.

Additional security personnel have been deployed to avoid fresh violence, especially after the Gorakhpur riots.

According to police, ''The situation, at present, is under control.'' Police has taken four persons in custody.

On February 3, several persons were wounded after a rival group had bombed another group over the same dispute.
