Wounded mahant succumbs

Chitrakoot, Feb 5 (UNI) A Kamadgiri mahant, who was shot by some miscreants on Friday, succumbed to his wounds in a Allahabad hospital today.

Mahant Ramdas of Kamtanath was attacked near his temple. He was rushed to the district hospital and later referred to Allahabad, where he died.

All the three named accused Nandkishore, Chunna Pandey and Rajkaran have been arrested.

A dispute related to the mutt's property is stated to be reason behind the crime.

The saint community continues to agitate over the crime.
