Three PULF activists nabbed in Dimapur

Kohima, Feb 5 (UNI) The self-styled finance secretary of People's United Liberation Front (PULF) of Manipur, an Islamic outfit was arrested along with two other activists, from the Dimapur railway station while they were about to board a train for Guwahati.

PULF finance secretary was identified as Jasmin (35) alias Sen, while the other two were Jasmin's husband Md Thahik Ali Shah and Ashma (16), who is well-versed in Nagamese and worked as an interpreter for Jasmin, who could not understand or speak the langauge, police said.

The police also seized two mobile phones and Rs 3910 from their possession.

Jasmin was wanted by the sub-urban police station of Dimapur under the Explosives and the Arms act.

Earlier on July 18, 2006, local police had busted the PULF ''finance cell'' in the city located in a high security zone, 50 meters away from the private residence of Chief Minister at Dimapur, the police added.

The police had arrested 10 PULF cadres and recovered a huge cache of ammunition, including 195 rounds of 7.62 SLR, 56 rounds of 303 assault rifles, a Chinese-made hand grenade and a HE grenade with other incriminationg documents.
