Take steps to trace 3,000 missing children: Cong tells Modi
New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) The Congress today asked Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to go ''into the mission mode'' and take immediate steps on a news report that nearly 3,000 children have gone missing in that state over the past 15 years.
''It is possible that the figures are much higher than this because in many cases the parents do not even file FIRs in such cases,'' AICC Spokesperson Jayanti Natarajan told reporters.
Seeking to equate the report from Gujarat with the slaying of children in Nithari village in NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh, Ms Natarajan wanted the Gujarat government to find out the root cause of the serious problem.
