Special Commissioner inaugurates AP's IMC

Hyderabad, Feb 5: Special Commissioner Information and Public Relations C Parthasarathi inaugurated the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of Indian Media Centre here today.

Speaking on the occasion, he said in today's scenario media plays a vital role in not only shaping up the public opinion but also helps in setting public agenda in the society. Media disseminates information, besides educating and entertaining masses, he added.

He said media had set its roots deep into the lives of all sections of the people.

He hoped that Indian Media Centre would serve as a common platform for the representatives of Fourth Estate not only to redress their own problems but also to bring into its stride the innvovative and latest developments taking place around the globe.

Mr Parthasarthy stressed the necessity to provide intensive training to the inservice professionals and also advocated introducing courses in journalism at under graduate level, besides extending PG courses to more and more universities.

Founder and Director IMC Shyam Khosla said to bring in quality of work among its cadres the Centre had intended to impart training at various levels extensively in coverage of different events.
