Sidhu wasted time in Laughter Show: Congress

Amritsar, Feb 5 (UNI) The Congress has claimed that cricketer-turned-politician and BJP candidate contesting the Amritsar Parliamentary by-election, Navjot Singh Sidhu had wasted time on the Laughter Show being telecast by the Star One Channel.

''Sidhu only wasted time on the Laughter Show and on cricket commentaries in the last three years and did not bother about the problems of the people of the Amritsar Parliamentary constituency from where he had won in 2004'', Sidhu's challenger and Congress candidate, Finance Minister Surinder Singla said while speaking at an election rally which was also addressed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who began his two-day election campaign of Punjab from his home town here.

Sidhu did not take care of his constituency and now again he was talking of intiating development projects, Mr Singla said while asking the people to beware of the false promises of his rival.

Sidhu and Singla have been engaged in a verbal duel against each other every since their candidatures were announced by their respective parties.
