Seven people killed in fire at Kolkata

Howrah, Feb 5 (UNI) Seven people were charred to death when a devastating fire broke out in an embroidery factory at a three storey building at Bon Bihari Road here early today.

The 1,500 square feet factory was completely gutted in the fire.

Additional Superitendent of Police Mrinal Kanti Das suspected that the fire broke out from the generator.

He also added that due to the presence of combustible material within the factory premises, the fire had spread so fast.

Six fire tenders had been sent to douse the blaze. The fire was put out after a few hours.

Police was carrying out further investigations to find the exact cause of the fire.

The bodies had been sent for post mortem, police added.
