WB: Seven people killed in devastating fire

Howrah, Feb 5: Atleast seven people were charred to death when a devastating fire broke out in an embroidery factory at a three storey building at Bon Bihari Road here in the wee hours today.

The incident took place The 1,500 square feet factory was completely gutted in the fire.

Additional Superitendent of Police Mrinal Kanti Das suspected that the fire broke out from the generator.

He also added that due to the presence of combustible material within the factory premises, the fire had spread so fast.

Six engines of the fire brigade, after several hours of struggle, could contain the fire, police said.

Police was carrying out further investigations to find the exact cause of the fire.

The bodies had been sent for post mortem, police added.
