Select metal prices decline on lack of fresh demand
Mumbai, Feb 5 (UNI) Select metal prices today declined on lack of fresh demand here as well as on London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.
In the ferrous category, copper heavy and copper utencils eased by Rs 300, and brass utencils also slashed by Rs 100 due to sluggish demand.
In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingots dropped by Rs 300 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively due to lack of fresh demand. Zinc slab went up by Rs 300 because of higher advices.
Nickel cathode shot up by Rs 20 per kg.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 29,800, Copper utensils - Rs 28,700, Brass tensils - Rs 22,800, Brass cuttings - Rs 24,100 and Aluminium tensils - Rs 11,400.
Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 33,000, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,300, Zinc slab Rs 18,300, Lead ingots - Rs 7,500, Tin slab - Rs 610 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 1,900 (per kg).
