New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) Reverting to the old practice, the Railways Ministry today decided to increase the advance reservation period from 60 to 90 days (excluding the date of journey) for three months on an experimential basis.

The advance reservation period of 90 days will be applicable with effect from March 1.

A review of bookings made during March 1-April 30 will be done in the first week of May to take a decision regarding continuation of this enhanced reservation period of 90 days.

''There will be no change in the case of certain daytime express trains like Taj Express and Gomti Express, where lower time limits for advance reservations are at present in force,'' a ministry official said.

There will also be no change in the case of the limit of 360 days for foreign tourists.

The ministry had earlier reduced the reservation period from three months to two months following large-scale complaints of malpractices by touts.
