Process for regularisation of panchayat karmis in MP
Bhopal, Feb 5 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced that the process for regularisation of panchayat karmis would start soon.
Mr Chouhan, while addressing a convention of panchayat karmis, said the designation of panchayat karmis would be changed in consonance with the state government's thinking to eliminate ''karmi'' culture. A decision in this regard would be taken soon.

He felt that gram panchayats and their secretaries must play a vital role in transforming villages, an official release said here today.
He called upon panchayat secretaries and panchayat karmis to extend their full cooperation in the activities aimed at improving the economic lot of the people. A perfect coordination between government, administration and people would be ensured in taking decisions.
Referring to the Jan Darshan programme launched by him, Mr Chouhan said he would visit villages to get first hand knowledge about implementation of schemes as a part of the programme.
Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the state government had increased the honorarium and provided job security to panchayat karmis. Efforts were being made for their regularisation, the release added.
