NFC demands setting up of APTDCL
Itanagar, Feb 5: The Nyishi Federal Council(NFC) has demanded that the state government should set up Arunachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation Limited(APTDCL) in a bid to support the Centre's Look East Policy.' The Council said the Corporation would help to tap huge tourism potential of the state.
In a memorandum to Chief Minister Gegong Apang, the NFC demanded promotion of tourism covering all district headquarters and blocks.
While welcoming the state government's initiative to implement various power projects, the Council expressed its dismay over non- commissioning of sufficient projects in the five Nyishi districts of the state having huge power potential.
He further urged the government to come up with more projects to tap maximum potential in these districts.
Besides, demanding creation of municipal committees in all the urban areas of the state to facilitate better administration, the NFC also demanded for construction of various roads, including Doimukh-Potin road in Papum Pare district, that connects six districts.
