Nariman welcomes Cauvery Tribunal's decision as 'satisfactory'

New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) Notwithstanding the decision of Karnataka Government to file a petition, its counsel Fali Nariman today welcomed the final order of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal as 'satisfactory' to all states concerned.

Reacting to the final order of the CWDT, Mr Nariman commended the work of the Tribunal, saying that it had done enormous work tackling a difficult task to the best of its abilities. Mr Nariman along with his Tamil Nadu counterpart K Parasaran, has been fighting the case for their respective states ever since the Tribunal was formed.

Mr Mohan Katarki, the advocate on record for Karnataka, however said that the final order was 'good in parts' and the government would decide its future course after going through the full report of the final order. The full report will be provided to the parties to the dispute at the CWDT sitting tomorrow.

Clause 17 of the order has given enough indication that every word of the 1000 page final report shall have the status of the final order in the form of orders, directions, recommendations, suggestions etc. mentioned in different chapters and volumes.
