Modi criticises Centre for delaying Afzal execution
Jalandhar, Feb 5: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today condemned the Manmohan Singh Government at the Centre for delaying execution of Parliament attack case convict Afzal.
Addressing a public meeting here this evening, Mr Modi said the then Congress led government at the Centre had disposed of mercy petition from General Vaidhya's assassin summarily in two hours but it had been keeping the petition from Afzal pending for past three months.
He said the UPA Government was delaying execution of Afzal which was unjustified.
He said '' will the government want to convey that the murderers will also be differenciated and discriminated.'' He alleged that Congress was acting with its vote bank approach in every matter which is deplorable.
In a left handed compliment, Mr Modi also described Dr Manmohan Singh as ''Proxy Prime Minister''.
He said now-a-days Delhi is not having a Prime Minister but there is a proxy Prime Minister, who did take diktates from somehwere else.
He said this situation had created an atmosphere of unaccountability and irresponsibility in the country which was not in the interest of THE country and its people.
