Moaists remanded to police custody
Purulia, Feb 5 (UNI) A local court today remanded two Maoists -- Shysunder Mahato of Belpahari in West Midnapur and Ramkrishna Mahato of Boro in Purulia -- to police custody for 14 days.
Purulia Chief Judicial Magistrate Sukumar Bandopadhyay ordered the police remand, after the duo was produced following their arrest last night.
They were arrested while going to collect money from a local school teacher of Bargamia village.
Police also seized a pipe gun and a printing press in a raid following a tip off, Purulia's Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Prasad said.
