K'taka Govt to file review petition before CWDT
Bangalore, Feb 5 (UNI) The Karnataka Government is committed to filing a review petition before the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal, which pronounced its final verdict on the decades-long water row, to safeguard the interests of the State, Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa announced in the Legislative Assembly today.
Making a suo motu statement, Mr Yediyurappa said he held discussions with Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in this regard. A Cabinet meeting would be held tomorrow to discuss the verdict in detail. This would be followed by an all-party meet in the evening to chalk out the future course of action, he explained.
Soon after the House assembled after lunch, Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha leader Vatal Nagaraj raised the issue and sought to know the Government's stand.
