DYFI stages rail roko against Palakkad Division bifurcation

Palakkad, Feb 5 (UNI) The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI), pro-CPI(M) youth wing, today staged a 'rail roko' agitation here to protest the bifurcation of Palakkad Division.

Rail traffic was affected for several hours in the morning. Some trains like the New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express were held up at the Palakkad station and certain passenger trains at the adjoining stations.

All political parties in the district had been agitating against the decision to bifurcate Palakkad Division to form the new Salem Division.
