Hyderabad, Feb 5: Opposing the Andhra Pradesh government's proposal of setting up 'Concept Schools' with private partnership, the Communist Party of India (CPI(M)) State Secretary B V Raghavulu today demanded that the government should withdraw its proposal immediately.

In a letter to the Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, a copy of which was released to the press here, Mr Raghavulu alleged that the government was planning to privatise the primary education sector in the state by inviting the private corporate educational institutes.

Alleging that the government had failed to provide basic facilities in primary schools, he said it was impossible to provide reservation to the backward communities in the concept schools, as mentioned by the government in the proposal.
