CPI stages dharna
Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, Feb 5 (UNI) More than 100 Communist Party of India (CPI) activists today staged a dharna for an hour in front of the Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) in protest against the skyrocketing prices of essential items and demanded that the government should strengthen the Public Distribution System (PDS).
Speaking on the occasion Mr Satyanarayana said prices of the essential items should be controlled forthwith by strengthening the PDS.
In a procession led by CPI East Godavari District Secretary M Satyanarayana, the CPI activists came from their office and staged the dharna at MRO office. They dispersed after submitting a memorandum in support of their demands.
