CPI lay siege to MRO
Vijayawada, Feb 5 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) workers today laid siege to Mandal Revenue Office (MRO) here to protest against the hike in prices of essential commodities.
Over 500 party members led by All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS) Vice-President Kolli Nageswara Rao and Vijayawada West Legislator Nazar Vali barged into the office and urged the officials and staff to come out.
Meanwhile, police arrested Mr Rao, Mr Vali and CPI City President Palla Surya Rao.
The agitators demanded that the state government check the spiralling prices and initiate action against hoarders.
