Hyderabad, Feb 5 (UNI) Commissioner of Police Balvender Singh today said two policemen in every police station would be upgraded as fingerprint experts to deal with the increasing number of murders and crimes in the city.

Participating in a 'meet the press' programme organised by Hyderabad Union of Journailsts (HUJ) here, Mr Singh said two constables would be selected from every police station and would be given training in finger print technology.

The services of these trained cops would be utilised effectively to find out the culprits in murder cases.

Forensic Science Laboratory would teach the techniques to the selected police personnel at the earliest, the City Commissioner added.

Stating that the city police were taking steps to curb the white collar crimes by implementing criminal laws stringently, Mr Singh said the police department was also planning to confiscate the properties of the accused in white collar crimes through the courts in future.

This kind of steps would check the offenders in cheating the people repeatedly.

The law, making helmet mandatory for pillion riders, would be implemented by the end of this year, Mr Singh said, adding that heavy fines and legal action would be initiated against those persons, who were booked under 'drunk and driving' cases.
