Cong responsible for trans-border problems: Modi
Jalandhar, Feb 5: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today alleged that ''weak policies'' and ''vote bank politics'' of the Congress were responsible for the problems created by Bangladesh and Pakistan in the border states.
Addressing an election meeting here this evening, Mr Modi said once when he had gone to Asom to address a meeting, he was urged by locals to speak against Bangladesh as they were facing problems from the neighbouring country.
He said, ''I had told them that Asom is adjoining to Bangladesh and they were worried of the neighbour where as Gujarat is adjoining to Pakistan and rulers of that neighbouring country were worried of Narendra Modi government.'' He had told his Asomese audience that weak and vote bank policies of the Congress led government in the state was responsible for their difficult situation, he added.
Mr Modi said leadership's grit, commitment and confidence could make all this difference.
