Centre may restart pension scheme for BSF
Barmer, Feb 5 (UNI) The Union government is contemplating to restart the pension scheme for Border Security Force personnel.
Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil, while talking to reporters in Munabao yesterday, said a process was on to modernise the force and provide more facilities for the jawans.
He also added the government was planning to restart the pension for BSF personnel, which was stopped earlier. The Prime Minister and Finance Minister were being consulted in this regard.
Mr Patil said several facilities were being planned for the jawans in the Sixth Pay Commission. The Cabinet may decide on giving insurance facilities and special pay for jawans.
The Cabinet was also planning easy house loans and ration facilities for jawans, he added.
