Boy rescued from pit
Katni, MP, Feb 5 (UNI) Memories of Kurukhetra's Prince were refreshed when one-and-a-half-year-old boy, who fell into a 60-foot pit near this district's Dhoreshwar village, 45 km from here, was rescued at about 0330 hrs today, the police said.
Rajendra Kushwaha's son, Amit, met with the accident at 1630 hrs yesterday while playing and was stuck at a depth of 20 ft inside the pit being sunk for a borewell at a farm in the village.
District Collector Anupam Rajan, Additional Superintendent of Police Purushottam Sharma and other officials had reached the spot.
Municipal officials, fire brigade personnel and locals mounted the rescue. A parallel pit and connecting tunnel were dug and a team of doctors was on the scene.
