MP: Boy rescued from 60 ft deep borewell
Katni (MP), Feb 5: Memories of Kurukshetra district's Prince were relived when a two-and-a-half-year-old boy, who fell into a 60-foot-deep pit being sunk for a borewell at a farm near this district's Dhoreshwar village 45 km from here, was rescued at about 0330 hrs today, the police said.
Rajendra Kushwaha's son Amit met with the mishap at 1630 hrs yesterday while playing and was stuck at a depth of 20 ft.
District Collector Anupam Rajan, Additional Superintendent of Police Purushottam Sharma and other officials reached the spot.
Municipal officials, fire brigade personnel and locals mounted the rescue. A parallel pit and connecting tunnel were dug and a team of doctors was on the scene.
