Bandh observed in MP town over cows' death

Ujjain, Feb 5 (UNI) A peaceful bandh was today observed in this temple town in response to the call given by the VHP and the Bajrang Dal to protest the death of 14 cows in the Chimanganj area on February 3.

''Comprehensive security arrangements were put in place in view of bandh. Apart from minor incidents, no untoward incident was reported,'' said Additional District Magistrate A K Singh.

A minor argument took place between bandh supporters and a shopkeeper in Neelganga area following which Congress workers gathered at a police station.

Shops and business establishments remained closed till afternoon and opened after 1400 hours. Passengers arriving in the town early morning had a difficult time due to the bandh.
