Army Colonel and his 9-year-old daughter die in Leh fire

Srinagar, Feb 5 (UNI) An Army Colonel and his 9-year-old daughter were killed and wife and another daughter received burn injuries in a fire at Leh in Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir.

A police official told UNI over phone from Leh the fire broke out in the Alfa-mess at Leh early this morning when Colonel P K Chodhary and his family members were in sleeping.

He said the Colonel and his daughter died in the incident while his wife and another daughter received burn injuries.

They injured were admitted to a hospital, he said adding the cause of the fire was due to short circuit.
