Aiyar admires Cuba's success

New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) Panchayati Raj Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar visited Cuba for four days from February 1 and held discussions on Havana's success in keeping the youth off drugs and other addictions.

Mr Aiyar discussed the issue with the Local Self Government and the Youth Affairs Departments, particularly the methods adopted by Cuba to make its anti-drug campaign successful.

The Minister also had an exchange of ideas with representatives of the Young Communist League about reinducting youngsters who were neither in the workforce nor in educational institutions back into studies together with added incentives.

The visit concluded with the signing of an agreement on sports, an official press note said here today.
