New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) After foreign TV Channel AXN, a few more are under the watch of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Some channels broadcasting programmes not fit for universal viewing will be asked to air them after 2300 hrs, Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters here after addressing Editors Conference on Social Sector issues.

He said the Ministry will soon be writing to them to follow the clear guidelines regarding such programmes.

Mr Dasmunsi said he was constrained to take action of banning AXN channel after it refused to follow such guidelines.

He, however, said since the foreign TV channel had now apologised, the Ministry would not go further.

Earlier, addressing editors, he said his Ministry had no intention of being a moral police, but it expected the media to observe a certain level of decency and ethics expected in a society in which they were living.
