Woman Naxal killed in encounter

Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 4 (UNI) A woman Naxal was killed and one CRPF jawan injured in an encounter between extremists and police at Bhopalpattnam area in Dantewada district last night, police said today.

The ultras opened fire on a joint team of CRPF and police personnel late last night. A woman Naxal was gunned down in police retaliation. A rifle was seized from the spot.

The deceased Naxal was yet to be identified.

A CRPF jawan was injured during the incident. He was sent to the Bhopalpattnam hospital for treatment.
