Two shot dead, vehicle carrying 70 students pushed down
Imphal, Feb 4 (UNI) Imphal police today recovered bodies of two people, reportedly shot dead by some unidentified miscreants, from two different places in Manipur.
One of the bodies was found at Senapati district while the other was recovered from here, police said.
Police further said both the deceased sustained bullet marks.
However, the reason behind the murder had not been ascertained.
Meanwhile, police said a few NSCN(K) militants pushed a bus, in which 70 Manipuri students were travelling, down into a gorge at Tamei in Senapati district yesterday, after making them dismount.
Sources said the militants had asked all the students including the driver, to get down from the bus before pushing it into the gorge.
However, no one was hurt in the whole incident, police sources said, adding that the students were on their way to Nagaland to appear an examination following the directions of the United Naga Council to appear the examination at Nagaland.
Earlier, the NSCN(K) had opposed the diktat of UNC and accused the NSCN(IM) of destroying the future of the students.
