Snowfall likely in Northern states

Pune, Feb 4 (UNI) Rain or snow are likely to occur at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir and at isolated places in Uttaranchal and Himachal Pradesh.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Dry weather will prevail over the Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Lakshadweep.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in south interior Karnataka and in some parts of Rayalaseema. They were below normal in south Konkan, Goa and north interior Karnataka.

The temperatures were appreciably to markedly above normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and coastal Karnataka. They were above normal in Uttaranchal and Gujarat Region.

The temperatures were normal over the rest of the country outside west Uttar Pradesh from where the data was sparse.

Very light rain or snow had occurred at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh.

Rain or snow had occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. They also occurred at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, at isolated places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim.
