Shiv Sena tally goes up to 84

Mumbai, Feb 4 (UNI) Shiv Sena's tally in the just-concluded election to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reached 84 after the result of a repoll held in Ward No 217 was declared here today.

In the repoll, as many as 477 voters of the total 1016 in booth No 5 cast their votes and counting was held today itself.

After today's polling in booth No 5, the total number of votes secured by the Sena candidate from Ward No 217 was 4417 votes as against the Congress candidate's 3850. The total polling percentage was 47.

The counting in the Ward No 217 could not be held on February 2 due to two faulty Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) used in booth No 5. Hence the counting of votes in the entire ward was withheld and repoll was ordered.
