School boy dies after being hit by cricket ball

Lucknow, Feb 4: A sixth standard student of the La Martiniere Boys College here, died after being hit by a cricket ball.

Dinesh was hit on his chest by a speeding ball. While batting for the Green House during an inter-house cricket match on the college playground yesterday.

Police said Dinesh was rushed to a nearby civil government hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead.

Probably, this is the second time any cricketer had died in such a manner. Indian cricketer Raman Lamba had died after a ball hit him on the head.
